Holiday Season Colour Play: Monochromatic Looks From Head-to-Toe with REVIVAL
The festive season is here and we’re turning up the volume on colour. Last year at the REVIVAL shoot Christina & I styled the team in bold, monochromatic looks, each person head-to-toe in one rich hue, but layered with texture, statement accessories and over-the-top flair. The mood board says it all: clean blocks of colour + maximal styling.
At REVIVAL’s Main Street location, the look was simple in principle: pick one vivid colour and own it. But the impact came through the details. Think: emerald blouses with matching bolo ties, leopard print loafers with an LV monogram clutch, black combat lace up boots with a matching satin blazer and a red pussy bow blouse paired with a triangular clutch. Each outfit was unified by colour, but dialled up with texture and personality.
Monochrome doesn’t mean minimal. On the contrary, it’s a canvas for expression. When all pieces speak the same tone, the styling becomes about silhouette, shine, layer, and attitude. That’s how we brought a holiday-feel that’s fresh, bold and visually memorable.
Why It Works
A head-to-toe colour story creates instant impact, looks striking in photos, displays festivity, and portrays real life. By grounding the look in one hue, you can go bold with texture and accessories without tipping into chaos. It’s the perfect balance of bold yet intentional, much like REVIVAL’s curated approach to style.
Quick Styling Tips
Pick one standout colour and carry it through every layer.
Play with texture, mix matte with shine for depth.
Add just one statement piece to keep things elevated, not busy.
Shoot against a clean backdrop to let your colour take centre stage. Occasionally, print on print may just work wonders. Don’t be afraid to take risks, explore and have fun!
This holiday season, step into colour. Choose one hue and own it, it’s more than just dressing up; it’s a statement. Thanks to everyone at REVIVAL for a shoot that showed how festive can be fearless.
